Dublin wildlife control tip of the month:
How to keep raccoons out from under a shed or porch
If there is one thing you need to know if you own your own home, especially if it is near a rural Dublin pest control area, you are very likely to have raccoons attempt to make a home in under your porch or in your shed. They are the ideal location for these rodents because they are usually dark, people don’t spend too much time in either of these areas of their property, and they can present easy access to and from for the raccoon to get in and out. They are ideal locations.
Of course you do not want these beasts on your property at all, much less building a home somewhere in your home. Your shed or porch poses great areas for a raccoon to live, so you have to do what you can to keep them out.
For your shed the first steps Dublin exterminator begin by making sure that there are no loose boards or holes within the shed that make for easy access for Dublin animal control. This can mean that if you have a latch that holds your door in place then make sure it is tightly closed, otherwise the raccoon will simply pull one door open and get in.
One area that some people forget is that raccoons are quite adept at digging their way into places, so if your shed is on a dirt surface, this can pose an opportunity for it to get in. If your shed is on a dirt surface then try a good idea is to try to set the shed on a wood surface or put rocks, wood and other debris around the shed to make it a daunting task to get into the shed.
Your porch is a much bigger challenge. For some the porch is not enclosed completely, so keeping them out makes for a tough chore. If you can get wood to enclose your porch then you should try to do so. If not then you will need to be more creative.
Begin with using commercial repellants under the stairs. You can even do this Dublin animal control in your shed as well. This is not as effective in your yard, but in an enclosed structure like your shed or porch this is ideal.
Next, keep a bright light on your porch during the night. This will keep the raccoon away from your home and deter it from coming to your porch seeking to make a home. This is a highly effective way for Dublin wildlife removal to keep raccoons away.
